Overview

ThThe Emergency Medicine Department provides comprehensive training in acute care management, focusing on rapid assessment, stabilization, and treatment of critically ill or injured patients. It equips students with essential skills to handle emergencies eectively, fostering teamwork and decision-making in high-pressure scenarios.

Key Learning Areas

  • Triage and prioritization of emergency cases.
  • Advanced life support (ALS) and basic life support (BLS) techniques.
  • Diagnosis and management of cardiac arrest, trauma, and poisoning.
  • Emergency airway management and ventilatory support.
  • Coordination of care in mass casualty incidents.

Treatment & Services​

  • Trauma Care: Emergency treatment of polytrauma, fractures, and head injuries.
  • Cardiac Emergencies: Management of acute myocardial infarction, arrhythmias,
    and cardiac arrest.
  • Poisoning and Overdose Management: Treatment for toxicological emergencies,
    including snake bites and drug overdoses.
  • Respiratory Emergencies: Immediate care for acute respiratory distress, asthma
    attacks, and COPD exacerbations.
  • Sepsis and Shock Management: Rapid stabilization and intensive care for septic
    and hypovolemic shock patients.

  •  Access to portable diagnostic tools, including X-ray and ultrasound.
  • 24/7 laboratory and imaging support for rapid diagnosis.
